St. Francis De Sales

 

St. Francis De sales died on December 28th, 1622. He is a Bishop and Doctor of the Church. He is the Patron Saint for journalists, writers, educators, and the deaf.

Since he lived during the time of the disastrous Protestant Reformation, horrified by the amount of people leaving the One True Church, it became his mission to bring back the Calvinists. St. Francis went door to door, preaching, and conversing with those who would listen, and ultimately is known for bring back around 60,000 Calvinists back to the Catholic Church. 

 

His most popular work is Introduction to the Devout Life, which continues to be one of the most popular books for those pursuing holiness.
