The Triumph of St. Michael over Lucifer's Pride
 
The Battle of Heaven was not God versus Lucifer, for Lucifer was a mere creature compared to the infinite omnipotence of God, the Creator. No, this was a battle between Pride, Humility, and Free-Will. 
 
All of us have been given the same Free-Will decision in every choice.
 
We can either say, "Non Serviam"  or "I will not serve" like the Proud Lucifer Angel chose through his evil and selfish desire to "be like the Most High God". 
 
Or
 
We can respond to that proud spirit, the tempter, accuser, liar, and murder of souls, with the words, "Quis Ut Deus?" or "Who is like God?" for no one is like unto God, and through Humility, along with St. Michael the Archangel, we can respond with, "SERVIAM" or "I WILL SERVE" the Most High God. My Lord. My King. My All. 
 
Every single sin, starts with this battle, for every sin starts with choosing either Pride or Humility. We can either choose to serve God by denying ourselves or we can choose to serve the devil. There is nothing else in between.

The Scene on the Bottom Left shows the Tower of Babel, where descendants of Noah, through Pride, wished to raise up the Tower to Heaven that their name might become famous. God punished their pride by confounding their tongue through multiple languages and scattering them over the face of the earth. Genesis 11:1-9
 
The Scene on the Bottom Right shows the story of the Pharisee and the Republican, where both of them came to the temple to  pray. The Pharisee through Pride prayed, "God, I thank thee that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get." Where as the Republican "would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!"
 
Jesus says, "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14
